Minimally invasive, patient focused, personalized care.
I am sub-specialized and board certified in General Gynecology and Gynecologic Oncology, the surgical care of pelvic problems from benign to malignant (non-cancer to cancer ). I have extensive experience in all aspects of gynecologic surgery and gynecologic cancers: of the ovary, uterus, cervix, and vulva and trophoblastic disease. I am board certified in gynecology and gynecologic oncology. Please see my resume. Over the last 22 years, I have become particularly adept in performing 95% of my surgeries using laparoscopic techniques (surgery by keyhole-size incisions). With this minimally invasive surgical approach, patients have less pain, lose less blood, stay in the hospital fewer days, return to work more quickly and have tiny scars on their abdomens.
My practice in Portola Valley in Gynecological Oncology (cancer surgery and complex pelvic surgery) is based at Sequoia Hospital in Redwood City, CA. I welcome new surgical and gynecological cancer patients from around the world.
Many patients from afar will choose our "One-Stop" option well in advance of their surgery: planning ONE VISIT to the bay area for both the office visit and surgery the next day. With this option, all reports (your medical history, all x-rays, microscopic slides, cardiac clearances, and blood tests), are faxed to our office for my review. Then I call and we plan your visit together: with office consultation on the day before we operate, and then surgery the next day.
Many patients are referred for specialized consultation because of a known or suspicious lesion, a pre-cancer or a recurrent cancer. Some need major surgery for a benign reason. We will give you the most current information available about your problem, anticipating that your understanding will make your treatment more successful.
